Why a radio show devoted to arts education?

After many hours spent discussing this important topic, we realized that we each share an honest, authentic passion for both the performing arts and education. Each of us has devoted our professional lives to creating intersections between art, and education and students.

Together we knew that there were stories that needed to be told, that by using our collective resources and the 70+ years of combined professional experience we could tap into the educational and performing arts community around the world and seek out success stories, and then provide a vehicle for these stories to be told.

Each episode features arts professionals, educators or community leaders discussing the importance of introducing young people to the arts and recounting how they personally were drawn to the field, perhaps after attending a performance as a child or through the efforts of an influential parent, teacher or mentor. The show is designed to explore the richness of arts education and help us gain an understanding of how people have been positively affected by someone in their life who turned them on to the arts.
